Relax at Barton Springs

Barton Springs is a pool/creek that everyone flocks to in the warm summer months. Fed by a natural cold-water spring in Zilker Park, the city-run Barton Springs Pool features manicured lawns that are great for lounging on and relaxing with your friends. The wide pool gives you plenty of room to float around and cool off, as the temperature can hit 100 degrees in the summer.

The pool costs USD 4 for locals, but they never ask for proof and while there is lots of space around it, you can enjoy it without worry.

Stroll Around Zilker Park

There is a botanical garden and outdoor Umlauf Sculpture Garden, centered on the artistic works of Charles Umlauf. It’s a massive park. 350-acre Zilker Park offers many different types of outdoor activities, such as biking, hiking, jogging, kayaking, and anything else you can do in a park.

This means there is plenty of space to relax and enjoy the weather with a book or picnic.

Walk the Greenbelt

Barton Creek Greenbelt contains 12 miles of gorgeous trails where you can bike, run, or walk. There are even beautiful limestone bluffs for rock climbing, and when there is enough water in the creek, There are several swimming holes to cool off in.

Are you an outdoor sports lover? This is one of the best places to go out and enjoy the nice weather. It’s a favorite of everyone in the city and one of the best things about Austin!

Go Two-Stepping

A honky-tonk with a city crowd, the White Horse is the only place we know where Texans do-si-do in cowboy boots, skinny jeans, and Obama tees to old Conway Twitty and Johnny Cash songs. To see it in action (or give it a try yourself) head to the White Horse. They give free two-step lessons on Wednesdays so you can try it out and then dance your way around town. Movie at the Alamo Drafthouse

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is an American cinema chain founded in 1997 in Austin, Texas. They have multiple locations, where you can enjoy movies, food, and drinks. Apart from mainstream movies, they also screen vintage movies, host local events, and play classical music throughout the month.

Visit the LBJ Library

Since the Library was dedicated by Presidents Johnson and Nixon almost 40 years ago, it has served as an incomparable venue for memorable events with Presidents, First Ladies, foreign heads of state, and other dignitaries and celebrities.

The Library is now open after undergoing recent renovations. General admission is $10 for adults, $7 for Seniors 62+ with ID, and $3 for children 13-17 and college students with a valid I.D. Admission is free for children 12 and under, active members of the military, members of Friends of the LBJ Library or Future Forum, student groups with reservations, and University of Texas students, faculty, and staff with valid IDs.
